Consistent Beauty: Inside and Outside

Pinetree suggested me write about the donation Han Geng and Geng fans made recently. Actually, at the very beginning, I thought it is something Han Geng and Geng fans should do, so no need to talk too much about it, and thinking about disaster…I’d rather hope we don’t have to make such donation at all. But then I realize this is not only about Han Geng, or Geng fans, or this particular natural disaster in China…it is about all of us, to think about doing something good to our home countries, to the society we are living in, to our calamitous earth.

Five provinces in Southwest China experienced serious drought since the fall of 2009. From March 18, 2010, China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation officially launched “rain action” to alleviate the drought situation in disaster area. Geng fans organized donation activity from March 25, 2010 to April 1, 2010, and Han Geng also donated 100, 000 yuan to China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation. By now, Han Geng and Geng fans have donated more than 200, 000 yuan all together. Since Han Geng was the second celebrity responding to this “rain action”, and Gengfans are the first fan group organize donation activity for this disaster, there have been many news reports about it. I also read posts at Geng bar talking about some Geng fans who are teachers called on their students to join “Rain Action”, of course, not entitling the donation as Geng fans, but their thoughts were definitely inspired by Han Geng and Geng fans. Baidu Han Geng bar also promoted the Earth Hour 2010 Event on March 27.

“Roses Given, Fragrance in Hand.”  Doing good things for others actually makes ourselves feel happier ^^

We all know Han Geng’s financial situation is not very good, also considering he donated more than 1,000,000 on his own in 2008, no one would say a word if he didn’t make any donation this time, but he still did it. Han Geng has his own definition of “idol” in his mind, like he said before, being an idol celebrity means being responsible for setting a good example for the children who love and support him. Han Geng never said a lot, but if he says it, he will do it, actually, most of the time, we may find he did more than what he said. Just like how Geng fans comment about his personality, “Keeping low-profile as a person, being high-profile in doing things.”

Besides feeling sad about the disaster and being so moved by all these acts of kindness, I just feel so so so comforted and happy to see the person I support and love has such golden heart. After not see him for three months, although he said there would be a new Han Geng…hehehehe…actually, in my eyes, he is still the same Han Geng, never ever changed, he is still the same boy I love, just he finally gets a chance to show his brightness.

Okay, let’s enjoy our heavenly handsome and adorable Geng Geng again~~~hehe, really never get tired of these…He has such consistent beauty, both inside and outside.

He is truly one special individual…..considering his status that could have made him ignorant…..

He remains the same kind and gentle Han Geng that continues to care for those less fortunate. He has made the difference in so many people’s lives…..not only the ones who directly benefit from his donations…..but those who follow his example and start giving or organizing the fund raising.

Thank you bristlegrass for sharing another of many beautiful deeds by Han Geng…… can we not love him more?…….how can we not fallen further into his irresistible trap?

Haha~~~~I am so proud of being one of this family too!!!!

I think all Geng fans should be proud ^^

and you are right, Pinetree, that all these good deeds, no matter they are big or tiny, should be complimented and spreaded. Different readers may have different interpretations, but such news definitely brings positive influence.

Ahh how is one such a good person on the outside as well as on the inside?
Even thought he might not be in such a great situation either. Ahh, Hangeng is really a good idol.
I hope I grow up to be in a position that can influence people to do such good deeds like him.

Although, Gengfans are also pretty amazing. ^^
    Well done.

Also, good article with such a true title ^_^

I remembered some of his kind deeds in the past.
Now that he is partially a free man,he can do more in his capacity on his own.
If I remember correctly, he said that he doesn’t need to have too much money but just sufficient for him to survive on..(correct me if I am wrong).
I remember too that he had to apologised to his company, one time he donated without informing them.So I was like “huh?” Can’t he even lift a finger without being monitored by his company?
Also last 2008 earthquake,he wanted to do more for the people in Sichuan but was restricted by his responsibilities in SJ-M.He wanted to go on his own to donate blood but his manager found out and ask him to do it together with his band mates.
So I am thankful that finally,he made a stand for himself. It is truly very sad when every good and kind deed he wanted to do had to be publicised by his company. He is a person who doesn’t like grandstanding, that’s why he donates secretly.

On a side note…I was amused when I heard that he plays mahjong..hahaha!!
    I mean,he is a young guy,and I don’t see young people playing mahjong..hahaha
I for one don’t even know how and I being Chinese and all..!!!
He really surprises me!!I recalled the interview at SoHu,when the host asked him what did he do during Lunar New Year, and he replied that he played mahjong with his parents..just 3 of them.hehehehe!!I can’t imagine how his face look while concentrating on the game.Just imagine..mahjong and video games..??
Aish..I don’t think I will ever be bored with him if I am stranded on a deserted island together with him…wishful thinking!!

    • Green bristlegrass says:

thanks a lot, trueblue, for sharing these stories with us!!!

As for the last sentence…yeah, you wish =P

      • Stars says:

        Hahh, nice stories~

XD She can wish as much as she wants. I think it’s a very true idea though, Hangeng wouldn’t leave us bored. ^^ He says he’s a “normal guy” but ahh, it’s not normal for us to be in awe of most people though.

Lol, mahjong, I know quite a few Chinese people who like to play it, and they’re in their teens.
Once my cousins went to Hong Kong but never went out of my gran’s apartment & just stayed in to play mahjong with her (and probably went on the computer a lot too.)
Sorry if you guys didn’t want my life story though. =P Just saying, mahjong’s not dead. =)

      • bristlegrass says:

Oh, mahjong…all my grandparents like to play it whenever we have family gathering, some of my cousins too…but I don’t know how to play T.T

3 persons’ mahjong…I first heard of it from Han Geng~~~~

      • onepinetree says:

There was a computer game, Mahjong, which used to be my favorite one.
If the computer game rule is the same as the real one then i can play it with Han Geng… he he…
