Actually, I didn’t want to make any post until the time when Han Geng is already in Germany for the MTV-EMA so that your voting will not be interrupted.
But this need to be said!
Han Geng will be going to London as a guest speaker in his capacity as a successful individual and not as a singer! He is really going places! I remembered that in 2010, people said that it was his year! Now it seems to me that he has not even begun to shine brightly yet! This year alone saw him as the youngest solo artist to hold a 30,000 seat capacity concert and being nominated for the prestigious MTV-EMA event! Without a doubt, he is rising more prominently in this year. He took a risk in venturing outside of the normal realm of Chinese music genre and take it to the maximum!
To be frank with you guys, I really like his new album and I could now see a little bit more of what Han Geng can do. His vocals have improved a lot and the way his songs were written are no match for the new aspiring singers in any song contest yet. To me, songs which can “tell” a story are what I considered “real” songs, unlike the present trend of which the lyrics are so ridiculous that they make no sense at all. Another thing is that his songs can become an evergreen just like those musicians of long ago whose songs that even now my children are into them. That was my first attraction into Kpop when I heard Don’t Don. It has a rich lyric and powerful music. I have a very high standard and expectations when it comes to music…hehehe..
Han Geng’s climb on the ladder of success was not easy and even now it’s still a struggle. He has to deal with pessimistic fans and challenges which were thrown in his path by envious media and peers in the entertainment circle. Many times he could have fallen off that ladder but he has the tenacity to hold on tight to his convictions and dreams with the support of his dedicated fans!
Now we can see him a little bit more in the international panoramic view. Just like mother eagles who taught their eaglets to fly by dropping them off the cliffs so that the eaglets would start flapping their wings in order not to fall straight down to the ground. If the eaglets weren’t able to flap their wings yet, the mother eagles would swooped down and catch them before they hit the ground and their demise.. Fans of Han Geng would also do similarly for him, believing that he can do it on his own, once his wings get bigger and stronger.. I think by now, Gengfans should not be called just “fans”, they have gone across the borders between fan and star. I would prefer to address them as supporters rather than fans because this is what they do:- support!
In this trip to London, he will be the guest speaker and the event would also be graced by China’s Ambassador to UK. Volunteers are needed in this event so please do volunteer if you think you are available during that time. I think you know what are the perks of being a volunteer right? So just imagine that you would be up-close and personal with Han Geng…hehehe Please read the article below.
